Nearly 127,000 residence permits were granted in Denmark in 2022, which was the highest number in several years. Of these, the most common residence permits were related to people from the European Union or European Economic Area (EEA). The second most common type of permits were for refugees from Ukraine, reaching close to 33,000. Except for other residence cases, the lowest amount of permits were given to asylum seekers, reaching only around 1,400 permits.
